Love letter to a stranger
(Read aloud to make love to a room full of people)
What made me notice you?
First those dualistic eyes
Somehow bridging human and animal;
Civil and cannibal;
Young and wise, vivid and grey
Predator and prey.
They dilate, slow exploding, and equally violent with their closing can they somehow dim the room; returning time to my mind with a zoom.
Then your smile.
Not the cheap one you toss away, or the bright one you really mean to say, the subtle one that sneaks out like the lovesick teenager, hopeless and devout whose parents doubt they can control; the smile tied straight to your soul. That smile that screams silently “I’m enjoying you enjoying me”, then begs half-heartedly “now stop, please”
It got kinda dirty after that.
